Power to Climate Control
I think I've just about read every thread on heater problems and I haven't found mine. I do not have power coming into the climate control switch. I've checked all my fuses and even changed the fuse that controls the blend door/heater/ac with a known good one. What feeds power to the switch? I'm about to give up and just go with an auxillary heater for the winter. (1997 F150)
Thanks in Advance

That was a good link. I've checked those fuses and checked all of them. I'm wondering if the actuator feeds power to the switch through a resistor and then it goes back to the actuator?

Specifically what problem are you having? According to the Haynes manual, the blower motor is switched on the ground side. The power goes direct to the Blower Motor Resistor Assembly. I believe the rest is controlled by vacuum.

I looked at the wiring diagram in the link again. I could not see it last night. I guess too frustrated with being cold. Looking at it again, power is fed to the blend door actuator, then to the cliamte control switch and then back to the actuator. I suspect the blend door is broken but I really can determine that until I get power to the actuator.

The blend door is electrically controlled, the airflow doors are vacuum controlled.

Thanks for the correction Steve. I misunderstood the schematic.

Yahoo!!! I have heat. I picked up a new actuator from Ford after work today and installed it. Steve, the wiring diagram was a life saver. It eliminated the guess work about power distribution. A new actuator solved the problem. Thanks!!!!!!!!

Well my success didn't last that long. I did have a dead actuator and I did get great heat the first couple of times but now I can hear the actuator moving/grinding and I have luke warm heat so I guess it is the blend door. Crap!!!
